45-year-old man arrested for forced marriage with minor girl in Bahawalnagar
The Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) took action on the marriage of a minor girl to a 45-year-old man in Bahawalnagar.
Chairperson PWPA Hina Butt made an emergency visit to Bahawalnagar and met the girl and briefed the concerned police about the incident.
Hina Parvez Butt said that the minor girl was forcibly married to a 45-year-old man. As soon as the incident was reported on police helpline 15, the DPO rescued the girl. A case was registered and the main accused was arrested. is
The police has immediately admitted the girl safely to a shelter home, all legal requirements will be met with the victim girl and financial and legal support will be provided.
