Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) clarified about the news of closure of ATMs in Pakistan. According to the details, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has declared the news of closure of ATMs as fabricated, regarding the news related to the possible closure of ATMs in the country, the spokesperson PTA has explained that LDI Networks Not unavailable or closed, which is unlikely to affect the IT or financial sector including ATM networks, operations of expired LDI licenses are not suspended or closed.
Similarly, the State Bank of Pakistan has denied the rumors related to the closure of ATM machines and online banking.
In a statement issued by the State Bank, the citizens have been advised to beware of the rumors related to the closure of ATM machines and online banking. Being prevented from using TM and online banking, citizens should be careful and do not listen to any such baseless messages and scams, approach your bank for any advice.
The central bank added in the statement that the State Bank of Pakistan, along with other banks and OneLink, is working hard to maintain the security of Pakistan’s financial infrastructure and digital payments system and on strict IT security measures. Implementation is being ensured, so far no threat of cyber attack on ATM and online banking systems has been seen in this regard and the financial services industry is smarter and safer than ever before.
