The United Arab Emirates has issued further clarifications regarding the visa amnesty introduced to correct the residency status of people residing illegally in the country. According to Emirati media, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) said in a press conference that there will be no sanctions or fines against those who do not comply with the two-month amnesty. will take advantage of the period which will start from Sunday 1st September.

It has been reported that this will be the fourth amnesty program of the UAE government after 2007, the last scheme in this regard was six years ago which initially started on August 1, 2018, and was applied for 90 days till October 31, 2018. However, the federal government extended the amnesty scheme for another two months until December 31 of that year to allow more residency violators to correct their status or leave the country without penalty.
