Houston: One of the NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station has reported hearing strange sounds inside the station.

Butch Wellmore, who is stranded in the space station, contacted NASA mission control on Earth and reported strange noises he was hearing from the Boeing Starliner.

Butch Wilmore reported the strange noise to the Johnson Space Center in Houston days before NASA asked him to undock the Boeing Starliner on autopilot from the space station.

Butch Wellmore asked during a call to NASA that he had a question about Starliner. A strange sound is coming through the speaker. I don’t know what it is.

Wellmore then places the phone near the Starliner’s speakers and a voice is heard.

Mission Control responds that Butch! It’s kind of like a pulsing noise, almost like a sonar ping.

Wellmore then repeats the sound, hoping that Mission Control can find the source of the sound, but Mission Control can only tell Wellmore that they will pass on the news. They will report back as soon as they find out.
