Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid acquired several valuable plots for herself and her family members on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka. Now it is known that the files of the plots acquired by Hasina Wajid were disappeared after the Prime Minister House and the country fled on August 5 after the public protest last month, these files have now come to the fore.
Hasina Wajid’s family got valuable plots of 300 marles
A Dhaka Tribune report has revealed that Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s family acquired 60 katha plots in 2022 in Purbachal project. The matter was kept very secret, Sheikh Hasina Wajid acquired up to 10 kathas of land in Dhaka for her son Sajib Wajid Joy, daughter Saima Wajid Patol, younger sister Sheikh Rehana and Sheikh Rehana’s two children.
The report revealed that after Sheikh Hasina Wajid was overthrown and she fled the country, the files related to these plots were removed from Rajok’s records section and hidden elsewhere. Later it was revealed that the said files were kept in the Rajok Chairman’s desk drawer.
According to the final allotment letter signed by Naib Ali Sharif, Deputy Director (State and Land-3) of the Urban Planning and Development Department (RAJOK) of the capital Dhaka, the price of a plot of one katha (five marles) was set at 3 lakh taka. A plot of 10 katha is worth 30 lakh taka.
Sheikh Hasina Wajid took Plot No. 9 on Road No. 203 in Sector-27 of the proposed Diplomatic Zone in Purbachal Project. A letter in this regard was issued to him on August 3, 2022. Sheikh Hasina’s son Sujeeb Wajid Joy and daughter Saima also got 10 katha plots with plot numbers 015 and 017 respectively.

The report states that the plot allocation letter of Sajeeb Wajid Joy was issued on October 24, 2022. The ownership registration of this plot was completed on November 10. The letter allotting the plot to Saima Wajid was issued on November 2 and was signed by the then Deputy Director of State and Land 3 Branch Habibur Rehman.
Plots of the Prime Minister’s younger sister
Hasina Wajid’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana and her children also got 10 katha plots in the Parbachal project, their plots were allotted in the same area in Road 203, Sector 27. Sheikh Rehana’s plot number 013, her son Rizwan Plot No. 011 of Mujeeb Siddique and plot No. 019 of his daughter Uzma Siddique Rupanti.
According to a Rajok official, after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, files related to the plots of Sheikh Hasina and her family members were removed from the record room, but now they have come to light.
