Chicago, indiscriminate firing on sleeping passengers on train, 4 dead

Chicago: An unknown assailant shot and killed 4 passengers at the railway station in the US state of Chicago.

The incident took place at the Far East Park Blue Line station, where the four passengers were sleeping at the time of the shooting.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth person died at Loyola University Medical Center, police said.

Police officials, referring to the review of security footage, said that it is not possible to identify the victims at this time.

A suspect was later arrested in connection with the train shooting.

A suspect has been taken into custody and a weapon has been recovered, Forest Park Deputy Chief Chris Chen said at a news conference.
