Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the budget made on the orders of the IMF has taken away the mouth of the people, the workers should make the peaceful strike successful. Also, Deputy Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch had said that there will be a nationwide shutter-down strike on August 28. It is the decision of the people. He said that the people fed up with electricity, petrol, taxes and IPPs will go on strike. The shutterdown strike is a decisive step to bring relief to the people.
It should be remembered that on August 16, the business community announced that they will go on a nationwide strike on August 28 against heavy taxes, expensive electricity and FBR’s business-friendly scheme. Addressing a joint press conference at the National Press Club in Islamabad, President of the Center of Tajran Pakistan Muhammad Kashif Chaudhry, President of All Pakistan Anjuman Tajran Ajmal Baloch and other leaders said that on August 28, traders across the country will shut down the shutters.
